What is The Family Well?

“They don’t send you home from the hospital with a manual…” why the heck not? In today’s society there is so little support in raising children - a life transition that can rock us to our core and test every limit. We’re all just doing our best, but how can a family thrive if the adults steering the ship feel like they can barely keep their heads above water? I am proud to offer The Family Well services to bring confidence, ease, and joy back into your identity as a parent or caregiver - whether this role is aspirational, new, or old to you. When you are well, the whole family can be well.

Meet Kat

Kathryn Gramigna Sabath, LMSW, RYT200

Hi! My name is Kat, and I am so happy you’re here.

I began my work in the family space as a classroom teacher. After several years working with kids and families in a school setting, I began to experience intense demoralization as I tried to balance what I knew was right for little humans versus what the red tape required of me. I stepped away from teaching and found healing as I pursued artwork and yoga, but felt that my work with families was not done.

I completed my MSW at Columbia University with a focus on advanced clinical practice. While studying, I had the opportunity to work with pregnant and postpartum mothers and babies residing in a local shelter, as well as individuals in the residential trauma treatment program at Silver Hill Hospital.

I enjoy combining my training in yoga and mindfulness, child development, and clinical therapy to provide support to clients that is completely individualized and unique. If holistic and responsive is your vibe, I’m sure we’ll be a good fit :)

I live in Redding, CT with my husband, two daughters, (2.5 yrs and 4 months) and two dogs where I also teach yoga and enjoy hiking, cooking, reading, and painting.
